Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Otepoti – Kura Tuatahi

This new building includes two teaching spaces, a multipurpose space (wharenui), a wharekai kitchen, staffroom, administration offices, and resource space. We worked closely with the kura and local Maori artists on the project, weaving various cultural narrative stories (the taniwha Matamata and the Polynesian ancestor Rakaihautu) into the design. This was a tremendously rewarding project to be part of, and is part of the resurgence of the kura and surrounding community.
